Weekend Meteorologist/Weekday Reporter Job Opportunity at KCWY-TV News 13, Casper, Wyoming

Market leader KCWY News 13 seeks a weekend meteorologist/weekday reporter for our Casper operation.  You will live in the boundary between high desert and mountains, with interesting weather and plenty of outdoor activities.

Typical Duties:
The candidate should be a trained meteorologist, familiar with on-air presentation and forecasting.  Familiarity with our Weather Central system is helpful but not essential.

Requirements:
Knowledge of shooting and editing video is required.  Some previous reporting experience beyond college would be helpful, but not essential.  A natural curiosity about the world and a wide knowledge base will make for a great product.  Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs is a plus, along with excellent verbal and written communication skills.  A valid driver's license with no DUI's is mandatory.  The ability to lift 50 pounds of gear is also required.

Typical Duties:
Make contacts and gather information about news issues and events in Wyoming and the West.  Write interesting news stories from wire copy, field reports and telephone interviews telling stories and writing to video.  Shoot and edit your stories, writing to video and editing to copy.  Appear at public gatherings and perform other tasks related to the position as assigned.
