Our organization is seeking a highly-motivated Communication student to be a part of our Summer Internship Program. You will apply business concepts and principles in real world situations, contribute to the enhancement and improvement of various Communication processes, and gain exposure to various Communication aspects including but not limited to:  executive communications, financial communications, strategic communications planning and writing for digital and print mediums.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Assist as needed with tasks associated with a wide variety of internal communications projects, to include, but not limited to:
    • Researching, writing and posting intranet stories/articles
    • Drafting corporate emails
    • Assisting with presentation development for executive town halls as necessary
    • Internal promotion of awareness events (i.e., National Call 811 Day), employee activities and events, or community relations initiatives
  • Participate in weekly internal communications staff meetings
  • Attend local communications trade group meetings with team members, if available

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree within a Business discipline (public relations, journalism, or communications preferred) 
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Possess strong problem solving and creative thinking skills
  • Ability to demonstrate an intermediate-advanced level of utilizing Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint), and other computer applications
  • Excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication skills
  • AP style Knowledge
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Proven leadership experience within a work, project, and/or campus environment

At least one summer remaining prior to graduation
