Three Minute Thesis Competition (3MT 2017)

The Three Minute Thesis is a research communication competition that challenges research degree students to present a compelling oration on their thesis/dissertation topic and its significance in just three minutes using just one static slide.  3MT develops academic, presentation, and research communication skills and supports the development of research students' capacity to explain their research effectively in language appropriate to a non-specialist audience.  It is an excellent professional development activity.

Eligibility;  Currently enrolled OSU thesis masters and doctoral students can participate at any state of their progression towards earning their degree prior to graduation.  The subject of your 3MT presentation must be on your thesis/dissertation research.  Participants from the 2016 OSU 3MT Competition with the exception of the finals first place winner are eligible to compete in the 2017 competition.

This year, the College of Arts and Sciences will offer $100 in travel funds to any eligible student who participates in the college-level Three Minute Thesis competition.  This is in addition to prizes awarded for top competitors at both the college and university level.

Registration opens Monday, November 21, 2016 and closes Monday, January 23, 2017.  To register, please click here.
