The Franchise Comes to OSU

Beginning this season, SMSC students are joining forces with The Franchise 107.7 Sports Radio in Oklahoma City to provide live coverage of the OSU Cowboy football games.  The students are gaining valauble on-the-job experience by working alongside the Franchise on-air personalities to analyze the game as well as to show highlights.   As you can see from the pictures, everyone worked hard and had a great time in the process.  Well done, everyone!

OSU Student Selected for NLGJA Student Training Project

The National Lesbian and Gay Journalists Association is hosting its annual student journalism training program, Connect, at the 2015 National Convention & LGBT Media Summit from August 31 to Sept. 5 in San Francisco.  Each year, NLGJA chooses 12 students from across the country to participate in its training project, which provides real-world experience to undergraduate and graduate students who are considering a career in journalism.  This year, Thomas Jones, a senior in Multimedia Journalism, has been selected to participate in this training project.  NLGJA will pay for the selected students' convention attendance, airfare, food and hotel at the convention site.

Congratulations, Thomas!
