Nine SMSC students have been recognized for excellence by the Oklahoma Broadcast Education Association.
The students were honored at the annual OBEA student awards day event held at the Oklahoma History Center in Oklahoma City.
Those receiving awards included:
Adam Hildebrandt and Landon McBride (1st place-Radio Play-by-Play)
Adam Hildebrandt and Alicia Kirkpatrick (2nd place-Television Sports Magazine)
Emily Jo Dixon (2nd place-Radio Magazine/Talk)
Sarah West and Max Baroski (2nd place-Television Commercial)
Lea Vorncek (2nd place-Radio Feature News Story)
Chris Brintle and Seth Becker (3rd place-Radio Sports Play-by-Play)
Over the past five years, Oklahoma State student have collected 13 first-place OBEA awards in the annual statewide contest for Oklahoma university and college students in broadcast-related majors.
KFOR-TV sports anchor Bob Barry, Jr. gave the day’s keynote address.
Students participating in the OBEA awards day also had the chance to participate in a job fair with broadcast companies from around the state.
