The Strategic Communication major blends advertising, public relations and marketing to create an integrated curriculum. The first courses you will take are foundation courses that teach you how to tell great stories to attract target audiences. You'll learn how to work with the media across multiple platforms, and we'll teach you how to write, record and publish effective digital stories. After building a foundation, you will receive extensive hands-on experience in courses that teach you to research, write, design and publish digital and print advertisements, informational and promotional materials, communication plans and strategic communication campaigns. At the end of your senior year, you'll put the finishing touches on your professional digital portfolio that showcases your talent and skills. Great portfolios help you stand out in the communications field when applying for internships and jobs.
